All Ive done is upgrade my ram from 8 to 16gb. I have an external Touro drive running at 7200rpm but I honestly barely use.

I had recently (about 3 weeks back) got a high custom configured MacBook Pro from the online Apple store recently and have been using it since then. The reason of the upgrade was I was unable to edit the 4K and 8K footages shot on the Canon EOS R5. Earlier I was using Canon EOS R and used to shoot videos on 1080p and everything was fine.
Why I decided to upgrade ?
Old MacBook Pro
Configurations were good for 1080p, even c-log footages were working without any lags, but 4K footages, would be having lags.
Do you take pictures?
I wanted to shoot and edit at least on 4k as I had got a camera which really shoots great 4k footages and even 8k.

The 2015 MacBook is a huge step forward from a design perspective. It's the smallest and lightest Apple laptop to date. It comes in Space Grey, Gold and Aluminum colors. It charges via USB-C and is a fan-less design. The 2015 MacBook has a Retina display. The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are more powerful but the MacBook is great for its intended audience. For someone that has a primary desktop Mac, the MacBook is a no-brainer! I bought it to function as my field computer. My primary computer is the iMac with Retina 5K display. It's extremely portable and can be charged via USB batteries banks and/or USB solar charges while on-the-go. It is still capable of running Final Cut Pro X, etc. for field edits but obviously a more power Mac computer would be optimal for video-intensive tasks. USB-C is a new standard so legacy USB 3.0 devices can be used by connecting an inexpensive converter.
